COLUMBUS, Ohio - The Cardinal finished with an 11th place team score at the NCAA National Championships this weekend, led by senior Irene Yeu and sophomore Crystal Qian earning All-American honors.

Yeu earned an honorable mention for her 12th-place finish in the women's epee, her third career All-America selection. Qian, making her second-consecutive trip to nationals, finished sixth in the women's foil to earn second-team honors. Qian was also named the women's fencing Elite 90 recipient, given to the national championships competitor with the highest cumulative GPA.

The duo was joined by five other Stanford fencers in Columbus.

Senior Joy Yun finished 14th in the women's saber, with grad student Casey Chan finishing right behind her at 18th in the weapon.
Freshman Arianna Cao finished 19th in the women's foil, while sophomore Sanjay Kasi finished 20th in the men's foil and freshman Jared Hammerstrom finished 24th in the men's saber.
