Top-25 Matchup in Arizona

The No. 7 Cardinal heads to Arizona to take on the No. 21 Wildcats. Stanford is coming off back-to-back three-game sweeps, starting off 6-0 in conference play for the first time in program history.

Perfect in the Pac 

The Cardinal is 6-0 to start Pac-12 play, sweeping back-to-back conference series for the first time since 2013. 

• The Card is the only undefeated Pac-12 team, as all other teams have at least two losses in conference play. 

Power Surge 

Through 62 games last season, the Cardinal combined to hit just 26 home runs. Through the first 30 games of 2024, the Card has already hit 24. 

• In 2023, the team combined for a .394 slugging percentage while batting .280. 

• This season, the slugging percentage is up to .443 while the batting average has dipped just slightly to .275. 

• Last season, seven different players hit at least one home run. This year, that number is up to nine already. 

Arizona History 

Stanford has struggled historically against Arizona, but has been on a roll as of late. 

• The Cardinal swept Arizona last season in a three game series on The Farm. 

• Stanford has won the last five games against Arizona, including a 2-1 series win at Arizona in 2022. 

• The Card is just 15-59-1 all time against the Wildcats, but six of the 15 wins have come since Jessica Allister took over as the Paul A. Violich Director of Softball.

Stanford has been strong on the road this season, sitting at a perfect 6-0 in true road games.

The Cardinal's entire pitching staff has been strong to open the 2024 season, boasting a combined 1.49 ERA through 30 games. 

• Senior Regan Krause has picked up 11 wins in 17 appearances (11 starts), across 68.1 innings pitched. 

• Freshman Alyssa Houston has allowed just six earned runs in 29.1 innings of work, for a 1.43 ERA. 

• The Cardinal has posted 11 shutouts in 30 games this season.

Stanford was ranked in the top four in four different preseason polls, including a top-3 selection in the NFCA/USA Today poll for just the second time in program history.
