Stanford Softball Tops Boise State 8-0

STANFORD, Calif. – The No. 11 Cardinal softball team topped Boise State 8-0 to secure the team's seventh-straight win and move to 12-4 on the season. The victory came after play was suspended on Friday night due to rain, then finished on Saturday morning.

Prior to halting play yesterday, the Cardinal jumped out to the lead with all eight runs coming in the third inning. The hit parade saw Stanford bat around the lineup, with junior Johnna Schroeder, sophomore River Mahler, freshman Ava Gall, senior Caelan Koch and freshman Jade Berry all driving in runs.

Senior Regan Krause earned the win, throwing three scoreless innings. When play resumed in the fourth inning on Saturday, freshman Alyssa Houston took over to close the game. Houston threw two scoreless innings, allowing just one hit to finish the game.

Sophomore Taryn Kern extended her streak of reaching base safely in 16-straight games, and Gall extended her hitting streak to five games.

Stanford wraps up the DeMarini Invitational tomorrow, hosting No. 5 Georgia at noon PT.
