Phebe Corckran King Women's Team Race Opens in a new window McIntyre Team Race Opens in a new window

STANFORD, Calif. - The Cardinal added to more regatta wins this weekend in the McIntyre Team Race and the Phebe Corckran King Women's Team Race.

In Redwood City, Stanford's fleet of eight sailors completed the sweep of its opponents. A perfect 15-0 record led the Cardinal to first overall, topping the field of six teams.

Eight of Stanford's 15 races included 1-2-3 sweeps over its opponents.

Stanford's closest competitor was UC Santa Barbara with a 12-3 record. The Cardinal also faced California, Cal Poly, UC Santa Cruz, and Northwestern.

Thomas Sitzmann, Jack Baldwin, Reade Decker, and Luke Woodworth led the charge for Stanford, taking the helm of the skipper duties during the regatta. Lauren Taylor, Margot Hutchins, Shay Wood, and Alexis Young served as crews.

Meanwhile, in Charleston S.C., Stanford faced poor weather conditions that prevented the majority of races from being held. In total, the Phebe Corckran King Women's Team Race featured only four races for each program.

Despite the challenging conditions, Stanford came out on top. The Cardinal claimed four race wins to take first place overall.

Michelle Lahrkamp, Vanessa Lahrkamp, and Ellie Harned skippered the team to victory, besting the College of Charleston in second place with a 3-1 record and the rest of the field including Jacksonville, Tulane, and South Florida.

Alice Schmid, Gwendolyn Donahue, and Grace Austin each sailed as crews during the regatta as well. Of the team's four races, three were clean 1-2-3 sweeps, including over Charleston, Tulane, and South Florida.

Stanford returns to action next week at the St. Mary's Team Race and the Bob Bavier Team Race next weekend.
