Finally back on The Farm

After opening the season with 14-straight road games, the Card is back home for the second-straight week this weekend.

• Last season, the Cardinal went 22-3 at Boyd & Jill Smith Family Stadium.

• The Card opened the 2024 home slate with a perfect 3-0 weekend, including two shutouts and an extra-innings win over No. 5 Georgia.

Non-conference gauntlet

Heading into Stanford's last non-conference weekend, 8 of the Card's 17 games have come against ranked teams.

• The Cardinal has gone 4-4 against the top foes, including a three wins over top-five teams at the time (Tennessee on Feb. 16, Texas on Feb. 24, Georgia on March 3).

• In Stanford's nine games against unranked opponents this season, the team has gone 9-0 with four shutouts and a +44 run differential.

Ava Gall can ball

Freshman Ava Gall has been on a tear, riding a six-game hitting streak to sit second on the team in batting average at .309.

• Prior to her streak starting, Gall was hitting just .235. Now the freshman leads the team in hits (17) and her .600 slugging percentage leads the team.

• In the six games, Gall has 3 homers, a double and six RBI.

NiJaree still doing NiJaree thing

Sophomore pitcher NiJaree Canady has had an electric start the season, with her team-leading 0.57 ERA.

• The ERA is the third-lowest in the Pac-12 and 15th-best in the NCAA.

• Canady's 102 strikeouts are the most in the NCAA.

• Canadys 18 strikeouts against No. 5 Georgia were tied for the most in her career, the second-most in program history and the most in the NCAA this season.

Because she gets on base

Through 17 games, sophomore Taryn Kern leads the Cardinal in OBP (.516), walks (19) and HBP (8).

• Kern's 1.12 walks per game is tied for the third-most in the NCAA, and her 0.47 HBP per game is the sixth-most.

• Through 17 games, the sophomore has drawn multiple walks in a game six times.

• Kern has been dangerous once reaching base too, with her 10 runs leading the team.

• The HBP total is already the 12th-most in a single season in program history. The single-season record is 18, set by Arden Pettit in 2018.

River running wild

Sophomore River Mahler leads the team in batting average at .326.

• Mahler's 10 runs scored are tied for the most on the team, and her 14 hits are the third-most on the squad.

• Her .400 OBP is second only to Kern, and when on base her three stolen bases are the second-most on the team.
