Midweek Win

STANFORD, Calif. – The No. 8 Cardinal picked up a sixth-straight win this evening, topping Fresno State 7-2 to move to 32-6 on the season. Freshman Ava Gall led the way for the Card, finishing the game 2-for-2 with two RBI and a pair of walks.
 
The Cardinal fell behind in the top of the first, with Fresno State going up 1-0. Stanford was able to quickly answer, with freshman Ava Gall driving in sophomore Taryn Kern to tie it in the bottom of the first.
 
Stanford took the lead in the bottom of the third, with four runs coming across to make it 5-1. Three runs scored on a Bulldog error, before Gall drove in her second RBI of the day with another single.
 
Two more runs came across for the Card in the bottom of the sixth, after senior Caelan Koch doubled to lead off the inning. Sophomore Kyra Chan singled to score Koch, then Chan came around to score after freshman Jade Berry singled.
 
Fresno State scored in the bottom of the seventh to make it a 7-2 final.
 
Senior Regan Krause entered with a streak of 11-straight scoreless innings, and allowed only an unearned run in the start.
 
Stanford is on the road this weekend, heading to Corvallis for three games with Oregon State beginning on Friday. First pitch is scheduled for 4:00 p.m. PT, and can be seen on Pac-12 Insider.
