Raynaud Withdraws from Portal, Will Return to Stanford

STANFORD, Calif. – The Pac-12's Most Improved Player in 2023-24, Stanford's Maxime Raynaud has withdrawn from the transfer portal to return to Stanford for his senior season.

"I've had time to reflect since the season ended, and I've come to the realization that there is no better place for me to continue my basketball journey than here at Stanford," said Raynaud. "I am excited to play for Kyle Smith, to earn my degree from Stanford, and to lead this team on The Farm."

Raynaud paced the Cardinal with 15.5 points and 9.6 rebounds per game, ranking 11th in the conference in scoring, third in rebounding and sixth in field goal percentage (56.7%). An All-Pac-12 second team honoree, Raynaud's 306 rebounds were the seventh-most in a single season in program history.

The 7-footer from Paris posted 12 double-doubles on the season, the most for a Stanford player since Reid Travis had 16 in 2016-17, and he had 11 games of 20 or more points. Raynaud has also been a mainstay for France's youth national teams, leading France to a gold medal at the 2023 FIBA U-20 European Championship in Greece and a silver medal at the 2019 FIBA U-16 European Championship in Italy.

Raynaud was ranked as the No. 1 player in the transfer portal by On3 and No. 5 by ESPN and 247Sports.
