Robinson Races in Aussie Nationals

ADELAIDE, South Australia, Australia -- Stanford senior Ky Robinson placed fifth in the 5,000 meters at the Australian track and field championships on Sunday. 

Robinson ran 13:40.22 in a close race in which the top five finished within 0.61 seconds of each other. Robinson is the defending NCAA outdoor champion in the 5,000 and 10,000, and the reigning Pac-12 cross country champion. 

Stanford alumna Mackenzie Little, a two-time NCAA javelin champion, won the Australian title, throwing 202-11 (61.85), which makes her No. 6 in the world this year.

AZUSA, Calif. – The rain came down on the final day of the Bryan Clay Invitational, with 10 Stanford runners competing in sections of the 1,500 on Saturday at Cougar Stadium on the campus of Azusa Pacific University. 

The fastest times by Cardinal runners were the 3:45.05 by freshman Leo Young in the invitational sections of the men's race. 

For the women, sophomore Riley Stewart ran 4:24.85 in the invitational sections. Two days earlier, Stewart ran a personal best in the 3,000 steeplechase of 10:25.88. 

Freshman Amelia Everett ran a personal 1,500 best of 4:26.16 in the Open A division.

Keeping in Los Angeles County, Stanford next competes at the Mt. SAC Relays, from Wednesday to Saturday at Mt. San Antonio College in Walnut.
