STANFORD, Calif. – The No. 8 Cardinal topped Santa Clara 3-1 today, moving to 28-6 on the season. Senior Regan Krause dominated in the circle, pitching a complete game to pick up her 11th win of the season.
Stanford took the lead in the bottom of the second, with sophomore Taryn Kern singling in a run for her sixth-straight games with a hit.
Santa Clara answered in the top of the third, scoring to make it 1-1.
Sophomore Emily Jones put the Cardinal back on top in the next inning, tripling to score senior Aly Kaneshiro and make it 2-1.
Sophomore Kyra Chan singled in the fifth inning to extend her hitting streak to five games, coming around to score on an error and make it a 3-1 Cardinal lead.
Krause was cruising in the circle, striking out seven and allowing just five hits.
