STANFORD, Calif. - The Stanford Cardinal (43-13, 17-7 Pac-12) has been awarded the number eight seed for the upcoming NCAA National Championship, and will host Regionals on The Farm for the second-straight year next weekend. The top-eight seed assures the Cardinal a Super Regional at home, should Stanford advance.

The Stanford Regional is a double-elimination format running from May 17-19 and will also include Mississippi State, Cal State Fullerton and St. Mary's. The Cardinal opens against St. Mary's on Friday at 7 p.m. on ESPN2 while Mississippi State plays Fullerton at 4:30 p.m. on ESPN+.

Tickets for the Stanford Regional go on sale Tuesday, May 14 at 10:00 a.m. PT with single-session or all-session tickets available.

Stanford owns a 54-45 record in NCAA play and will be making its 21st appearance in program history. The Cardinal has qualified for the postseason in five straight seasons, hosting Regionals last year en route to the program's first trip to the Women's College World Series since 2004.

Stanford has hosted both NCAA Regionals and NCAA Super Regionals only once in its history (2009). The Cardinal went unbeaten in the regional round before dropping two of three to Arizona the following weekend in Supers.

Stanford has made seven NCAA Super Regional appearances (2005, 2006, 2008, 2009, 2011, 2022, 2023) and advanced to the NCAA Women's College World Series three times (2001, 2004, 2023).

This season, the Card posted a second-straight 40-win season and matched a program record with 17 Pac-12 wins. Stanford has been in the top 10 of all major polls in all but two weeks this season, and topped the RPI in week six. The Cardinal entered today at No. 5 in the RPI and No. 11 in strength of schedule.
