STILLWATER, Okla. – Stanford men's tennis sent two student-athletes to the NCAA Singles Championship, with Nishesh Basavareddy winning two matches and Samir Banerjee taking one. Basavareddy clinched his second consecutive All-America nod with his national seed, No. 9-16, and result.
Basavareddy went 2-1 with wins over No. 54 Robin Catry (NC State) in the round of 64 and No. 34 Justin Boulais (Ohio State) in the round of 32. The Pac-12 Player of the Year, Basavareddy fell to Arizona's No. 22 Colton Smith in the round of 16, marking just his first loss in nearly three months. Basavareddy earned his second consecutive ITA All-America selection with the result, and finished the season at 16-2 overall with 11 wins over ranked opponents.
Banerjee reached the NCAA round of 32 for the second straight season, taking out No. 40 Gilles-Arnaud Bailly (Texas) in the opening round before falling in three sets to Michigan State's ninth-ranked Ozan Baris in the round of 32. Banerjee closed the year with a 16-12 record, co-leading the team in wins with Basavareddy and Neel Rajesh, and seven wins over ranked foes.
Stanford men's tennis closes the season ranked No. 17 as a team, going 19-7 overall with a 7-1 mark in the Pac-12. Stanford won its first Pac-12 Championship since 2021, and advanced to the NCAA Super Regionals on the road for the third consecutive season.
