Pac Party at Home

The No. 7 Stanford Cardinal is set for this week's Pac-12 Tournament, which begins tonight and runs through Saturday. The Card enters in the quarterfinals against No. 19 California on Thursday.

Enemies Across the Bay

Stanford and the Golden Bears meet again after a Cardinal sweep of the regular season series.

• Despite trailing the all-time series 29-42, Stanford has won seven of the last 10 against Cal.

• Since Paul A. Violich Director of Softball Jessica Allister took over in 2018, the Cardinal is 10-7 against cross-bay rivals.

Beating the Best

The Card has played 23 games against teams ranked in the NFCA's top 25

• Stanford is 13-10 against ranked teams, and 31-2 against unranked foes.

• The Cardinal has beaten a then-top-5 team three times on the season: No. 2 Tennessee on Feb. 16, No. 2 Texas on Feb. 24 and No. 5 Georgia March 3.

• Two wins at No. 8 Washington two weeks ago give the Card five wins against top-10 teams.

Power Surge

Through 62 games last season, the Cardinal combined to hit just 26 home runs. Through the 54 games in 2024, the Card has almost doubled that number with 50.

• The 50 home runs are the most in a single season since 2008, and the third-most all-time. The second-best total is well within reach at 53.

• In 2023, the team combined for a .394 slugging percentage while batting .280.

• This season, the slugging percentage is up to .457 while the batting average has risen to .283.

• Last season, seven different players hit at least one home run. This year, that number is up to 12.

Aly Kaneshiro led the team with seven home runs last year, and is back atop the category with nine this year.

• Three different players have hit seven or more homers this season.

Emerged From the Pac

The Cardinal finished Pac-12 play at 17-7, second in the conference thanks one of the best conference campaigns in program history.

• Stanford swept back-to-back conference series for the first time since 2013 to open the Pac-12 slate.

• The Card has won seven of eight series in Pac-12 play.

• This is just the 15th time Stanford has won 10+ conference games in a season, and third time with 14 or more.

• Stanford has secured back-to-back 14 win seasons for the first time in program history.

• The 17 wins tied a program record from 1998, when the conference schedule was 28 games long instead of the current 24-game format. The next best was 14 last season.

A complete staff

The Cardinal's entire pitching staff has been strong in 2024, boasting a combined 1.72 ERA through 54 games.

• Senior Regan Krause has picked up 20 wins in 32 appearances (24 starts), across 133.2 innings pitched.

• Freshman Alyssa Houston has allowed just 14 earned runs in 44 innings of work, for a 2.23 ERA and two saves.

• The Cardinal has posted 17 shutouts in 54 games this season.
