AUSTIN, Texas - After earning an NFCA First Team All-American honor just a few weeks ago, NiJaree Canady has added CSC First Team Academic All-American to her resume.
The reigning USA Softball Collegiate Player of the Year wrapped up a dominant second season in the circle, leading the nation in ERA and strikeouts. In the classroom, Canady posted a 3.54 GPA to earn the honors.
Canady was one of just three sophomores to earn a spot on the First Team, and only four across all three teams.
The product of Topeka, Kans. adds the Academic All-American honors to a trophy case that also includes NFCA Pitcher of the Year, Pac-12 Pitcher of the Year and NFCA Freshman of the Year last season.
