Five Make Scholar Team

Stanford lands five on the WGCA All-American Scholar Team for the second year in a row.

CORAL SPRINGS, Fla. — Five Stanford women’s golfers were named to the 2023-24 WGCA All-American Scholar Team on Monday morning.

Sadie Englemann, Megha Ganne, Paula Martin Sampedro, Caroline Sturdza, and Kelly Xu were all honored by the WGCA. Englemann leads the way for the Cardinal with her fourth overall selection to the WGCA All-American Scholar Team. Ganne and Sturdza earn their second, while it is the first time being chosen for both Martin Sampedro and Xu.

The criteria for selection to the All-American Scholar Team are some of the most stringent in all of college athletics and continue to demonstrate the high-level academic achievements of golfers. To be selected, a student-athlete must:

Have an overall cumulative grade point average of 3.50 or higher.

Be an amateur and on the team's roster through the conclusion of the team's season.

Have played in 50% of the college’s regularly scheduled competitive rounds during the year nominated through the team's conference championship.
