STANFORD, Calif. – Junior Stavi Papadaki helped Greece to a ninth-place finish at the recently-concluded FIBA U20 Women’s EuroBasket, Division B in Sofia, Bulgaria.
Papadaki averaged a team-best 24.0 minutes per game and played in four of Greece’s five contests at the event. She was second on the team and 21st in the tournament in scoring, putting up 11.5 points per game on 40.5 percent shooting (17-of-42), including 39.1 percent from deep (9-of-23). She had her best performance in the group phase against Croatia, pouring in 20 points on 4-of-9 shooting on July 7.
Greece went 4-2 at FIBA U20 Women’s EuroBasket, Division B, winning the ninth-place classification game against Bulgaria via forfeit on Sunday. Greece also beat Albania on July 6 (96-39), Austria on July 11 (76-39) and Switzerland on July 13 (71-47).
It was Papadaki’s third go-around with her country’s youth national program. She averaged 3.8 points in four games at last summer’s U20 EuroBasket, Division B in Craiova, Romania, and appeared in four games at the FIBA U18 Women's European Challengers in July 2021 in Heraklion, Greece.
