STANFORD, Calif. – Stanford earned special mention when the Women’s Basketball Coaches Association announced its Academic Top 25 Team Honor Rolls on Wednesday. With a team GPA of 3.401, Stanford was one of two schools to earn both academic recognition and appear in the top 10 of the organization's final national poll released at the conclusion of the NCAA Tournament (Iowa – 3.327).
The WBCA Academic Top 25 recognizes NCAA Division I, II and III, NAIA and two-year GPAs inclusive of all student-athletes on their rosters for the entire season. The 2023-24 season is the 29th in which the WBCA has compiled the honor rolls. Teams having a 3.0 combined GPA who qualified for consideration for the top 25 are listed as special mentions.
The Cardinal ended its 30-6 season with a No. 8 ranking from the WBCA. Stanford placed five on the Pac-12’s Winter Academic Honor Roll last season, including Hannah Jump, who was also named an Academic All-American for the second time in her career. Jump is the fourth in program history to receive multiple Academic All-America honors, joining Lexie Hull (2021, 2022), Chiney Ogwumike (2013, 2014) and Chris MacMurdo (1992, 1993).
