STANFORD, Calif. – The Stanford men’s golf roster got deeper on Monday afternoon, as Stanford Knowles Family Director of Men’s Golf, Conrad Ray, announced the addition of incoming California transfer Nathan Wang.
Wang will join the Cardinal ahead of the 2024-25 campaign with two seasons of eligibility remaining.
A native of Fremont, Calif., the former Golden Bear holds a 72.68 scoring average in 19 starts during his two seasons in Berkeley. This past season, Wang recorded a career-best third-place finish at the Alister McKenzie Invitational, registering a 15-under 198 to help Cal win the team title in the event.
Turning in eight sub-60 scorecards in his collegiate career, Wang was a Pac-12 All-Freshman Team honorable mention and was honored as Cal Golf’s Newcomer of the Year in 2022-23. In the classroom, Wang was recognized as a 2023-24 GCAA/Cobalt All-America Scholar.
Before he arrived at California, Wang was a 2022 NCGA Amateur Stroke Play Championship medalist as the only golfer in the field to finish under par, as well as a 2021 U.S. Junior Amateur Championship qualifier and a three-time All-WCAL First Team selection during his time at Archbishop Mitty High School.
Wang joins incoming Harvard transfer Brian Ma ahead of next season, joining a Stanford squad that finished T-20th at the NCAA Championships a season ago.
