STANFORD, Calif. – Three-time Stanford All-American Nneka Ogwumike was named to the Team WNBA roster for AT&T WNBA All-Star 2024, the league announced Tuesday.
The ninth career All-Star selection for Ogwumike comes in her first season with the Seattle Storm, where she is second on the team in scoring (17.2) and rebounding (7.3). Sixth in the league in field goal percentage (.540), Ogwumike is one of three players in the WNBA averaging 17 points and seven rebounds and shooting better than 50 percent from the floor along with A’ja Wilson and Dearica Hamby.
Ogwumike’s nine All-Star selections are the fifth most in WNBA history, trailing Sue Bird (13), Diana Taurasi (11), Tamika Catchings (10) and Brittney Griner (10). The No. 1 overall draft pick in 2012 and 2016 WNBA MVP, Ogwumike has been named to the All-WNBA Second Team five times, including each of the past two seasons.
The 2024 WNBA All-Star Game will be played on Saturday, July 20 in Phoenix and will be televised by ABC at 5:30 p.m. PT. The game will feature the USA Basketball Women’s National Team against the WNBA All-Stars, who were selected as part of a combination of fan, player, media and coach voting.
