Papadaki to FIBA U20 EuroBasket with Greece

Tournament begins Saturday in Sofia, Bulgaria

STANFORD, Calif. – Rising junior Stavi Papadaki will represent Greece at FIBA U20 Women’s EuroBasket, Division B beginning this weekend in Sofia, Bulgaria.

It’s Papadaki’s third go-around with her country’s youth national program. She averaged 3.8 points in four games at last summer’s U20 EuroBasket, Division B in Craiova, Romania, and appeared in four games at the FIBA U18 Women's European Challengers in July 2021 in Heraklion, Greece.

Greece is in Group C along with Belgium, Croatia and Albania and will play each country once over three days before a rest day on July 9. Classification Games begin on July 10 depending on each team’s group finish with the final tipping off on July 14.

Papadaki and Greece will face Albania on Saturday, July 6 at 5:30 a.m. PT, Croatia on Sunday, July 7 at 10:30 a.m. PT and Belgium on Monday, July 8 at 5:30 a.m. PT. All the action will be available to watch live on the FIBA YouTube channel.

The top two finishers in Bulgaria will secure promotions from Division B and compete in the top flight of next summer’s FIBA U20 Women’s EuroBasket.
