STANFORD, Calif. – In its inaugural ACC season, Stanford was picked to finish second in the conference standings by the league’s coaches and placed four on the Preseason All-ACC Team.
Middle blocker Sami Francis, setter Kami Miner, libero Elena Oglivie and outside hitter Elia Rubin were named to the 18-player Preseason All-ACC Team. It is the third preseason all-conference selection for Miner, while Francis, Oglivie and Rubin are each earning their second career honor.
As a team, Stanford picked up three first-place votes and totaled 268 points to finish second behind Pitt, which was picked to win the ACC with 13 first-place votes (285 points). Louisville (265), which collected the remaining two first-place votes, was third.
Miner, Oglivie and Rubin are all returning All-Americans for the Cardinal. Miner is a two-time Pac-12 Setter of the Year, while Oglivie repeated as Pac-12 Libero of the Year in 2023. The trio was joined by Francis on the AVCA All-Pacific North Region Team last season.
The Cardinal opens the season on Friday, Aug. 30 at Milwaukee before taking on perennial powers Minnesota (Sept. 1) and Wisconsin (Sept. 2) at Fiserv Forum. Stanford begins its ACC slate on the road at Notre Dame on Sept. 27.
