STANFORD, Calif. – Stanford is heading to Italy for a trip that includes culture and competition, three games and stops in four cities.
The Cardinal will leave campus on Sunday, Aug. 18 and return to Stanford on Wednesday, Aug. 28. The journey, which programs are able to take once every four years, will have Stanford traveling to Rome (Aug. 18-21), Siena (Aug. 22), Florence (Aug. 22-24) and Venice (Aug. 25-27). Stanford last visited Italy in September of 2017.
College basketball teams are allowed 10 official practices before international trips and Stanford will use its final two of that number on Monday, Aug. 12 and Thursday, Aug. 15 before heading to SFO on Sunday, Aug. 18 for an afternoon flight to Europe.
Stanford's tentative itinerary, including opponents and tip times can be found below (all times local). In addition to organized tours, each day also includes free time for the team to see the sights in these cities on their own. Fans will be able to follow the team's travels via social media on Instagram, X, and Facebook.
