Aikey One to Watch

Jasmine Aikey has been tabbed a United Soccer Coaches Midfielder to Watch

STANFORD, Calif. - Junior midfielder Jasmine Aikey has been tabbed a United Soccer Coaches Midfielder to Watch, as announced on Friday. Aikey had previously earned the same recognition prior to a 2023 campaign that saw her help lead the Cardinal to the national championship match.

Aikey joins Elise Evans as current Cardinal to be named to the "Players to Watch" lists after Evans was listed as a top defender on Tuesday. The duo also landed on the Preseason All-ACC team ahead of Stanford's inaugural campaign in the conference.

The watch lists are compiled and released by the Division I All-America Committees to promote college soccer leading up to the official start date for the regular season later this month. The lists include United Soccer Coaches All-Americans and first or second-team All-Region players from 2023, who are scheduled to return for the 2024 season.

Aikey was named 2023 Pac-12 Midfielder of the Year during a spectacular sophomore season that saw her finish as a semifinalist for the MAC Hermann Trophy and a finalist for the Honda Award. She also earned her first All-America selection, claiming first-team honors, after scoring 11 goals to rank second on the team and assisting on a team-best 12 more to collect a team-high 34 points. The native of Palo Alto, Calif. finished the season ranked first in the Pac-12 in assists (12) and points (34), second in game-winning goals (4), and third in total goals (11).
