STANFORD, Calif. - Sophia Luwis has joined the Cardinal lightweight rowing program as an assistant coach, associate head coach Lizzy Houston announced today.

"We are thrilled to welcome Sophia to the Farm! Her experience, great attitude, and love for the sport are undeniable, and I have no doubt that she will make a significant impact on the lightweight team," said Houston. "I'm excited to see what's in store for this year and beyond."

Luwis brings a stellar rowing resume to The Farm, most recently serving as a lightweight alternate for team USA's rowing squad at the Paris Olympics.

Her team USA experience includes competing in the 4X in 2022, before securing gold and silver in the lightweight 1X at World Cup II and III, respectively.

The McLean, Va. native has most recently coached with the Lower Marian High School rowing team in Conshohocken, Penn. in the midst of her own training.
