Scoresheet

MALIBU, Calif. – The No. 3 Cardinal moved to 11-1 on the season with a 14-11 win at No. 4 Pepperdine this afternoon. Riley Pittman led all scorers for the second-straight game, chipping in six goals to power the win.

Stanford jumped out to a multi-goal lead in the first quarter for the second-straight game, leading 4-2 at the first break. An even second quarter sent the Card into halftime with an 8-6 advantage, including a quick hat trick from Pittman.

Pittman was responsible for both of the Cardinal’s two goals in the third, keeping the two-score lead at 10-8 heading into the final period. Pittman added in another score in the fourth with six goals. The total ties an individual game high for the Card this season, matching Jack Merrill’s six scores against Concordia on Sept. 8.

Goalkeeper West Temkin finished with 10 saves, including a crucial penalty stop in the fourth quarter to keep the score at 11-8. The goalie added in an assist for good measure on the afternoon.

Pittman finishes the weekend with 10 goals and two assists, after pitching in four goals and a pair of assists yesterday in the win at No. 8 UC Irvine. Soren Jensen added a hat trick for the second-straight game as well, bringing his season total to 20 – the second most on the team

The win gives Stanford a seventh top-10 win this season, heading into next weekend’s slate against the two top-ranked teams in the country. MPSF play starts next weekend at No. 1 UCLA on Saturday and at No. 2 USC on Sunday. Both games start at 1:00 p.m. PT and will be streamed on Overnght.
