Agara Aggressive In Exhibition Victory

Has 25 points, 13 rebounds and five assists to lead Stanford to a 91-70 win over Cal State LA

STANFORD, Calif. – Nunu Agara had game highs of 25 points, 13 rebounds and five assists to lead Stanford to a 91-70 exhibition victory over Cal State LA on Wednesday night.

Agara led six Cardinal in double figures as Stanford shot 46.9 percent from the floor (30-of-64) and 91.3 percent at the free throw line (21-of-23). Elena Bosgana, Chloe Clardy and Jzaniya Harriel each had 11, while Brooke Demetre and Courtney Ogden chipped in 10 apiece.

Midway through the second quarter, an eight-point Stanford lead dwindled to just one, 32-31, before the Cardinal closed the half on 16-5 run to go up 12 at the break, 48-36. The streak, which was sparked by a Clardy 3-pointer and included an old-fashioned 3-point play from Harriel and triples from Bosgana and Agara, was capped with a pair of free throws from Stanford’s leading scorer. Agara, who was an 86.4 percent free throw shooter as a freshman, went 12-of-13 at the line on Wednesday night.

The Cardinal was never up by less than double digits the rest of the way and ended the game with its largest lead of 21.

Ogden scored eight of her 10 in the second half on 3-of-5 shooting, including a pair of 3-pointers.

Stanford starts its regular season on Monday, Nov. 4 when it hosts Le Moyne at 7 p.m.
