Cardinal improves to 4-1 on the season

SAN LUIS OBISPO, Calif. - Earning bonus points in five bouts, No. 14 Stanford defeated Cal Poly, 33-12, Saturday, in an outdoor dual on O'Neill Green.

The Cardinal (4-1) won seven of the nine contested matches against the Mustangs (0-2), including three falls on the afternoon.

After forfeiting at 125, Stanford's Tyler Knox, ranked No. 12 at 133 pounds, put the Cardinal on the board with a 5-3 decision over No. 13 Zeth Romney. The redshirt freshman scored a takedown in the first and escapes in the second and third to pick up his fifth win of the season.
