Jack Ryan won both springboard events at the Texas Diving Invitational

AUSTIN, Texas – Stanford senior Jack Ryan won both springboard events at the University of Texas Diving Invitational this weekend at the Lee and Joe Jamail Texas Swimming Center.

The four-time All-American captured the 3-meter with 423.45 points in the six-dive final on Saturday. In the 1-meter final on Friday, Ryan scored 398.85.

Stanford freshman Misha Andriyuk came up just short in the platform, scoring 380.75 for second – only 3.05 out of first.

Hunter Hollenbeck competed in both the 3-meter and platform, with a best placing of 10th in the 3-meter final.

This was the first major competition of the season for the Cardinal divers, who opened at a double dual against Arizona State and Cal in Tempe, Arizona, on Nov. 7-8. Ryan is undefeated in the 1-meter in two meets this season.

Ryan had two huge scores in the 3-meter. In the prelims, he scored 420.45. His combined score from prelims and finals was 843.90.

Ryan’s fourth dive – a reverse 3 ½ somersault tuck – was his highest scoring of the 3-meter final. With a 3.50 degree of difficulty, Ryan earned his weekend-best score, of 84.00.

Ryan attempted his most difficult dive on this fifth, a forward 2 1/2 somersault 3 twist pike with a 3.90 degree of difficulty. Though he didn’t quite pull it off, scoring 64.35, Ryan was aggressive in his approach, with a 3.80 dive on his sixth.

In the 1-meter final, Ryan scored his highest (72.00) on a reverse 2 /2 somersault tuck. In the prelims, he scored 73.50 on a forward 3 ½ somersault tuck.

In the 3-meter final, Ryan had a 15.50-point winning margin. In the 1-meter final, Ryan won by 36.90 points over runner’up Gage DuBois of Arizona, who placed sixth in that event the 2024 NCAA Championships to Ryan’s fourth.

In the platform, Andriyuk scored highest on his third dive, a 79.20 on a back 3 ½ somersault tuck with a 3.30 degree of difficulty.
