Stanford Takes Down Florida State

Card hits .412 in win

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – Led by Elia Rubin and Ipar Kurt, No. 5 Stanford bounced back on Sunday with a 20-25, 25-16, 25-10, 25-22 win over No. 23 Florida State in the Tully Gymnasium.

Stanford (17-4, 9-3 ACC) hit .412 as a team while holding Florida State (16-6, 8-4 ACC) to a .254 clip. The Cardinal finished with 59 kills, nine aces and 11.0 blocks. Stanford out dug the Seminoles, 55-32.

Rubin and Kurt each had 17 kills to lead all players. Rubin hit .438 and had nine digs, four blocks, three aces and three assists. Kurt turned in a .406 attack percentage and had three blocks and a pair of aces.

Setter Kami Miner controlled the offense with 42 assists and registered 14 digs and three kills for her team-leading 11th double-double of the season. 

Opposite Jordyn Harvey tallied 12 kills on .435 hitting, four digs, three blocks, three assists and an ace. Middle blocker Sami Francis hit .429 with seven kills on 14 swings with just one error. Freshman Lizzy Andrew chipped in with three kills and a career-high eight blocks. 

Defensive specialist Anna Pringle collected seven digs for the Cardinal. Freshman Taylor Yu put down three aces.

Florida State was led by Audrey Koenig’s 12 kills on .321 hitting, while Taylor Head finished with 11 kills and seven digs. 

Stanford returns to The Farm next week to play host to Clemson on Friday and Georgia Tech on Saturday.
