STANFORD, Calif. – Fifth-years Will Rottman and Nathan Lietzke were named to the Mountain Pacific Sports Federation all-conference teams, the league announced Tuesday.
Rottman is now a four-time All-MPSF selection, landing on the first team for the second time in his career. Lietzke is being recognized for the first time. Stanford now has 115 all-conference selections all-time.
A native of Santa Barbara, Rottman leads the MPSF with 3.61 kills per set, ranks second with 4.33 points per set and third with 0.43 aces per set. An Off the Block Preseason All-American, he has led the team in kills in 12 of his 18 matches played. The outside hitter has hit .300 or better in 11 matches and tallied 20-plus kills on four occasions.
A setter from Austin, Texas, Lietzke leads the team with eight double-doubles this season. A four-time MPSF Defensive Player of the Week, he is second in the conference with 1.95 digs per set. His 9.51 assists per set ranks fourth in the MPSF, while his 0.41 aces is fifth. He leads the team with 37 aces and 15 solo blocks this season.
UCLA middle Merrick McHenry was named MPSF Player of the Year, while Pepperdine middle Ethan Watson was voted MPSF Freshman of the Year.
