STANFORD, Calif. – Redshirt freshman Lorenzo Norman has been voted the ACC Wrestler of the Week, the conference announced today.
Ranked seventh nationally last week, Norman went 5-0 at the 60th Ken Kraft Midlands Championships en route to the 174-pound title. His performance helped Stanford win its first Midlands team title in program history.
Norman was voted the Jack Leese Champion of Champions following the tournament as he knocked off No. 5 Nick Incontrera of Penn in the finals. He now boasts five ranked wins on the season, including two top-10 victories.
Norman is now 14-1 on the season and moved up to No. 5 in the InterMat individual rankings. He becomes the first Stanford wrestler to earn an ACC weekly honor.
The Cardinal is back in action on Friday, Jan. 10 at Pittsburgh to open ACC competition.
