Season-Opening Quad Meet Victory

Led by four individual event titles and the highest team event totals on three of the four events, the Cardinal opened its 2025 season with a win at the University of Washington quad meet

SEATTLE – Led by four individual event titles and the highest team event totals on three of the four events, Stanford women’s gymnastics opened its 2025 season with a win at the University of Washington quad meet inside Alaska Airlines Arena.

Stanford earned the team title with a score of 195.600, topping Boise State’s effort of 195.050, Washington’s score of 194.800, and UC Davis’ total of 193.375.

Senior Brenna Neault won the all-around title with a 39.100 all-around total, while junior Anna Roberts brought home the vault title and a share of the floor crown and junior Claire Dean secured the top finish on beam.

Stanford’s victory came in come-from-behind fashion, trailing after the first two rotations to Boise State. The tides turned when the Cardinal moved to floor, as its team total of 49.300 was .325 points better than all other quad meet participants and puushed Stanford to a .450 point lead.

The Cardinal opened its 2025 season on bars, earning a 48.775 team total led by a 9.825 from Roberts. Senior Anapaula Gutierrez led off the event with a 9.750 and fellow senior Neault matched that total in the fifth spot. Freshman Jaime Dugan made her Stanford debut with a 9.625 in the third spot, and junior Ava Sorrento rounded out the Cardinal’s counted scores with a 9.775.

After one rotation, Boise State led by .125 with a 48.900 on beam.

Stanford then took on beam, matching its bars team total (48.775) led by a leadoff 9.900 from Dean. Sophomore Temple Landry made her collegiate debut with a 9.875 in the third spot, followed by Neault with the same mark in the fourth spot. Sophomore Sienna Robinson closed out the rotation with a 9.825.

After two rotations, Boise State grew its lead to three-tenths.

The Cardinal’s floor rotation proved a .300 deficit did not phase them, scoring a 49.300 guided by six scores of 9.800-or-better. The rotation was highlighted by a 9.925 by anchor Roberts and a 9.850 debut routine from freshman Alana Walker, alongside 9.850 scores from leadoff Dean and Robinson and a 9.825 from sophomore Victoria Cluck. Neault rounded out the rotation with a 9.800 in the four spot.

After the third rotation, Stanford led 146.850 to Boise State’s 146.400, Washington’s 145.825 and UC Davis’ 144.800.

Stanford finished the evening in Seattle with the night’s highest-scoring vault rotation, tabbing a 48.750 led by reigning NCAA Vault Champion Anna Roberts’ anchor 9.900 total. Gutierrez earned a 9.850 in the fifth spot, while Walker debuted with a 9.825 in the second spot. Neault recorded a 9.625 and junior Taralyn Nguyen scored a 9.550 to complete the Cardinal’s scoring efforts.

The Cardinal returns home to The Farm for its second meet of the 2025 season, hosting NC State for its inaugural Atlantic Coast Conference dual meet Jan. 18 at 2 p.m. inside Maples Pavilion.
