STANFORD, Calif. – The strong form continued for Stanford men’s basketball against Florida State, with the Cardinal earning a 78-71 victory at Maples Pavilion. Stanford improved to 14-6 on the season with the win, including a 6-3 mark in ACC action.
Stanford has won 11 of 12 games at home, the first time Stanford started 11-1 at Maples Pavilion since 2020. The Cardinal is a perfect 4-0 at home in ACC play.
Oziyah Sellers led the way with a career-high 27 points, shooting 10-for-16 from the floor and 4-for-6 from beyond the 3-point arc. Benny Gealer and Jaylen Blakes were also in double figures with 13 points apiece, while Maxime Raynaud added eight points and a game-high 14 rebounds.
The Stanford defense stifled the Seminoles (13-7, 4-5 ACC) all afternoon, with Florida State shooting just 37.9 percent from the field and 30 percent from 3-point range.
Ryan Agarwal scored Stanford’s first five points of the night, and Stanford took an early 18-10 lead after a personal 7-0 run from Sellers midway through the opening frame. Sellers made a trio of triples in the first 20 minutes, while Chisom Okpara scored from beyond the arc with 20 seconds to go in the half to give the Cardinal an eight-point edge at the break, 33-25. The 25 points were Florida State’s lowest in any first half this season.
Sellers and Blakes combined to score Stanford’s first eight points of the second half, helping the Cardinal to a double-digit advantage, 41-29. Both players scored in double figures in the second half alone, with 14 for Sellers and 11 for Blakes, while Gealer added 10 points of his own in the second half.
