Card Collects Three More Weekly Honors

Taylor Burkhart sweeps GOTW awards for second consecutive week, while Brandon Nguyen is named MPSF Specialist of the Week

STANFORD, Calif. - Taylor Burkhart earned his second consecutive sweep of the Gymnast of the Week awards, once again getting the nod from the Mountain Pacific Sports Federation (MPSF) and College Gymnastics Association again this week (CGA).

This past weekend at the Stanford Open, Burkhart posted an 83.900 all-around score to best his previous NCAA-leading mark of 80.400. The Arvada, Colo., native finished top three in three events, turning in a career-high on pommel horse (14.300) while adding season-bests on floor (14.350), high bar (13.800), still rings (13.650), and parallel bars (13.500).

Through 3 weeks, Burkhart has the top all-around average score in the country with an 82.150, and has a top-ten national average on floor (4th - 13.983), vault (6th, - 14.267), and pommel horse (9th - 13.850). 

Brandon Nguyen also tallied his first weekly honor of the 2025 campaign, as the MPSF tabbed him as this week's Specialist of the Week recipient. 

Nguyen's Stanford Open was highlighted by his third event title of the season with a 14.000 routine on parallel bars. The fifth-year senior also turned in his season-best effort on vault with a 14.450 to finish tied for second and a 13.500 routine on high bar to round out his night. Nguyen currently holds the season-highest national average on vault (14.450) and ranks second on parallel bars (14.033). 

No. 2 Stanford returns to action this weekend, playing host to No. 8 California inside Burnham Pavilion on Sunday at 1 p.m. PT.
