CORVALLIS, Ore. - A fall by Nick Stemmet and a major decision from Peter Ming helped No. 15 Stanford come-from-behind to defeat Oregon State, 22-16, Friday, at Gill Coliseum.
Stanford (8-2) won six of 10 bouts to pick up its first win over Oregon State (1-7) since 2021.
Trailing 16-12 with two matches remaining, Stemmet, ranked No. 22 at 197 pounds, secured a second-period fall over Vaun Halstead to give the Cardinal its first lead of the dual. It was the fourth fall of the season for the fifth year, who improves to 14-8 overall and 6-4 in duals.

Ming, who is ranked No. 32 nationally, delivered the final nail in the coffin for the Card with a 15-6 major decision over No. 17 Brett Mower at heavyweight. The fifth year moves to 11-5 overall and 3-2 in duals.
Redshirt freshman Tye Monteiro set up the comeback with a tight 5-2 decision over TJ McDonnell at 184 pounds. Leading 4-2 in the third period with riding time locked up, Monteiro held off a late shot by McDonnell as time ran out. He is now 8-7 overall and 3-2 in duals.
Redshirt freshman Tyler Knox scored Stanford's first points of the dual with a 6-0 decision over Damion Elliott at 133 pounds. Ranked No. 6 nationally, Knox registered a reversal to start the second period to lead 2-0. Elliott chose neutral to start the final frame, where Knox scored a takedown and secured the riding time point for his team-best 11th consecutive win. He improves to 19-2 overall and 10-0 in duals.
Fifth year Jason Miranda also picked up a win on Friday, posting a 6-4 decision over Nash Singleton at 141 pounds. Ranked No. 21, Miranda tallied a takedown in the first and a pair of escapes in the third to move to 13-4 overall and 3-2 in duals this season.
Redshirt freshman Zach Hanson picked up his first dual win with an 11-5 decision over Steele Starren at 165 pounds. He is now 6-5 overall.
Stanford returns to The Farm next week to play host to No. 10 Virginia Tech on Friday in Maples Pavilion. Action gets underway at 7 p.m. on ACCNX.
