Cardinal Competes in CGA All-Star

Colt Walker wins parallel bars event title as four Cardinal leads Team West to CGA All-Star meet win

STANFORD, Calif. - Four Cardinal gymnasts gave a sneak preview of the upcoming 2025 campaign at the third annual Collegiate Gymnastics Association (CGA) All-Star meet on Friday evening.

In its third edition of the event since beginning in 2022, the CGA All-Star meet highlights the best gymnasts in the nation as they compete against each other by splitting into two squads, the East and the West.

Invitations were sent to student-athletes based on the results of the 2023 NCAA Championships, as competitors pre-submit their routines and were scored on the 10.0 scoring system rather than the traditional open-ended NCAA scoring system. The event also offered a first look at the new four-up, four-count format being introduced to NCAA men's gymnastics in 2025.

Four Cardinal gymnasts competed in the event - Jeremy Bischoff, Arun Chhetri, Brandon Nguyen, and Colt Walker - while Stanford head coach Thom Glielmi acted as the head coach for Team West. Asher Hong, Khoi Young, and Luke McFarland were also named All-Stars due to meeting the invitation criteria but did not compete in the event.

Jeremy Bischoff was the first to perform for the Cardinal, turning in a 9.275 on floor in the opening rotation to finish sixth in the rotation. In the third rotation, Arun Chhetri posted a 9.075 on still rings to also place sixth in the event.

On parallel bars, Brandon Nguyen turned in an impressive 9.475 routine but it was Colt Walker who recorded the best routine of the night, scoring a 9.650 to claim the event title. With his performance, Walker earned Stanford's first event crown in the CGA All Star meet since Khoi Young claimed the pommel horse title in 2022.

Team West would hang on to defeat Team East, 225.825-225.550, to claim its first meet win since the inception of the event in 2022.

Stanford kicks off the 2025 season on Monday, January 13 at the Cal Benefit Cup as the Cardinal to secure an NCAA-record sixth consecutive NCAA championship.
