STANFORD, Calif. – Caroline Driscoll, a two-time All-Summit League performer at Denver, has transferred to Stanford for the spring season and will have two years of eligibility remaining, Peter and Helen Bing Director of Women’s Tennis Frankie Brennan announced Wednesday.
“I am thrilled to welcome Caroline to The Farm,” Brennan said. “She is a great fit for this university and has already put together an accomplished college career. We are fortunate to be able to add someone of her caliber to our roster, excited to help her develop during her time here at Stanford and look forward to her contributions to the program.”
Driscoll put together a career singles record of 53-18 over the past two seasons at Denver, including 30-10 in duals. As a sophomore in 2023-24, she led the Pioneers in singles victories (29), tied for the seventh-most in a single season in the program’s Division I history. She also went 30-12 in doubles, and her 59 combined singles and doubles victories are the most in Denver’s DI history. Driscoll finished the season ranked No. 11 in singles in the ITA Mountain Region.
Driscoll went 24-11 in singles during her debut season in 2022-23, including 12-5 in duals and captured 10 dual doubles victories.
In addition to her two All-Summit League selections, Driscoll was a two-time Summit League Peak Performer of the Week (Feb. 6, 2024; March 5, 2024) and a two-time ITA Scholar-Athlete.
A product of Brookline High School in Brookline, Mass., Driscoll played No. 1 singles and went undefeated during her prep tennis career. She was a five-star recruit according to TennisRecruiting.net and ranked as high as No. 1 in the state and in the top 25 in the country by the USTA.
Her mother, Katrina, played tennis at Duke and then on the professional tour, and her father, David, played at Boston College.
Driscoll’s addition will provide added depth for the No. 3 Cardinal. Junior Alexis Blokhina and graduate student India Houghton have made the decision to turn professional and forgo the remainder of their NCAA eligibility.
