EVANSTON, Ill. – No. 4 Stanford ended its ITA Indoor Championship with a 4-2 loss to No. 13 Tennessee on Sunday.
For the fourth consecutive match, the Cardinal (4-2) dropped the doubles point, with losses at Nos. 1 and 3.
The Lady Vols’ Maeve Thornton beat Katherine Hui on court 3, 6-0, 6-2, but wins from Caroline Driscoll on court 6 (6-1, 6-3) and Valerie Glozman on court 1 (6-4, 6-2) pulled Stanford even.
Tennessee victories would follow at Nos. 5 and 4 to end it.
The Cardinal returns to action at home when it plays at Santa Clara on Wednesday, Feb. 19 at 11 a.m.
