TUCSON, Ariz. – The No. 18 Cardinal fell this afternoon 10-2 in six innings, moving to 12-2 on the season. Kyra Chan and Emily Jones each homered in the loss.
Arizona opened the scoring in the bottom of the first, with back-to-back home runs to go up 3-0. The Cardinal was able to answer back in the top of the third, thanks to a leadoff home run from Kyra Chan.
Emily Jones followed it up with a leadoff homer of her own, opening the fourth inning with a solo shot to center to make it 3-2.
A seven run bottom of the sixth inning, six of which were unearned, saw the hosts pull ahead 10-2 and walk off the game in run-rule fashion.
Stanford heads east next weekend, opening ACC play with a three game series at Georgia Tech beginning on Friday from Atlanta.
