Raynaud Breaks Program Double-Double Record, Card Beats Boston College

Stanford rolled to a 78-60 win over the Eagles

STANFORD, Calif. – Maxime Raynaud broke the program record for double-doubles in a single season, helping to lead Stanford to a 78-60 victory over Boston College on Feb. 26 at Maples Pavilion. The Cardinal improves to 18-10 this season and 10-7 in the ACC with the win.

Raynaud posted his nation-leading 21st double-double of the season with 23 points and 10 rebounds, passing Adam Keefe ’92 for the top spot on Stanford’s single-season list. The Paris native finished 9-for-14 from the floor with four 3-pointers to lead the Cardinal. He moved into 15th place on Stanford’s all-time scoring list, passing Dwight Powell ’14, while also becoming Stanford’s all-time leading scorer among international players.

Oziyah Sellers finished with 18 points, including a pair of triples and a 6-for-6 mark at the free throw line, while Chisom Okpara tallied a season-high 15 points on 7-for-10 shooting. Jaylen Blakes was in double figures with 11 points, to go with four assists, while Ryan Agarwal scored nine. Stanford held Boston College (12-16, 4-13 ACC) to just 39.7 percent shooting from the floor.

Stanford was dominant in the first half, allowing just 19 Boston College points over the first 20 minutes. The 19 points are the lowest Stanford has given up in a half this season. Raynaud and Sellers led the Cardinal to an early 12-6 lead after five minutes, while the lead jumped to double figures at the 11-minute mark. Raynaud and Blakes led a 7-0 run to end the half, with Stanford leading 37-19 at the break.

The Cardinal led by as many as 27 points in the second half, 57-30, with 14:11 to play. Sellers tallied 11 points over the final 20 minutes, while Agarwal scored all nine of his points in the second half.

Just the second meeting between the two programs on the hardwood, Stanford secured its first win in the series.

Stanford closes its regular season home slate with Senior Day against SMU on Saturday, March 1 at 2 p.m. The action will be broadcast on ACC Network.
