HONOLULU – Led by Theo Snoey, No. 9 Stanford handed No. 4 Hawai’i its first loss of the season, defeating the Rainbow Warriors, 19-25, 26-24, 25-23, 26-24, Friday, in SimpliFi Arena at the Stan Sheriff Center.
The win snapped a 12-match losing skid to Hawaii (9-1) and was the Cardinal’s first victory in Honolulu since 2013.

Snoey led Stanford (4-4) with a career-high 23 kills on .349 hitting to go with six digs, three blocks, two aces and an assist. He also carried a heavy load on serve receive, committing just one reception error in 26 total attempts.
Stanford hit .600 (16-1-25) in the decisive fourth set, which had 21 tie scores and 11 lead changes.
Setter Theoren Brouillette controlled the offense, which hit .315 for the match, with a career-best 49 assists. The junior also tallied six digs, two kills and an ace.

Opposite Moses Wagner recorded 14 kills, five digs, three blocks and an ace for Stanford, which led wire-to-wire in the third set. Freshman libero Evan Porter, a Honolulu native, racked up seven digs and two assists.
Freshmen Kaumana Carreira and Reed Wainwright were Stanford’s starting middle blockers, combining to hit .579 without committing an attack error. Carreira seven kills on 10 swings for a .700 attack percentage and had three blocks, while Wainwright chipped in with four kills and four blocks.
Sophomore outside hitter Nate Clinton collected a match-high nine digs to go with six kills, a block and an ace.

Hawaii, which lost in the month of February for the first time since 2018, was led by Kristian Titriyski’s career-high 21 kills on .472 hitting. Outside hitter Louis Sakanoko added 15 kills, eight digs, two blocks and two aces.
Stanford returns to The Farm next week, hosting The Master’s University on Saturday, Feb. 15 at 6 p.m. in Maples Pavilion.
