REDWOOD SHORES, Calif. – The Stanford men’s rowing team took two from Oregon State in the early session of the seven-team Redwood Shores Invitational on Friday.
The Cardinal 1V8 earned a 24-second victory over the Beavers, in 5:52.9. And in the 2V8, Stanford earned a 22-second victory, in 5:57.4, on the 2,000-meter Belmont Channel/Redwood Shores Lagoon course.
The performances followed Friday’s opener to the three-day regatta that featured a Stanford sweep of Drexel in the Cardinal’s fastest times this decade.
Against Oregon State, the 1V8 had a slightly different look than Friday. Kannan Alford took the reign as coxswain and freshman Philip Wolfensberger took the bow seat. James Pullinger moved from the bow on the 1V8 to the bow on the 2V8, which was coxed by Gabrielle Zammit.
