Wolfpack Edges Men’s Tennis

No. 6 men’s tennis wrapped up its first ACC road trip

RALEIGH, N.C. – No. 6 Stanford men’s tennis dropped a tight match for the second time in three days, 4-2, on the road at No. 10 NC State. The Cardinal moves to 8-4 this season and 0-2 in the ACC.

The Wolfpack took an early lead in doubles with wins on the top two courts, each by a 6-4 scoreline. Nico Godsick and Henry von der Schulenburg held a 6-5 lead on court three, but the match was abandoned.

Stanford quickly tied the match at 1-1 as Samir Banerjee made efficient work of his top-25  opponent on court one, 6-0, 6-1. The win was his sixth against a ranked opponent this season. NC State regained the lead, 2-1, after a win on court four, but Stanford again leveled the match with a top-25 win from Henry von der Schulenburg on court three, 6-4, 7-6 (6).
