Men’s Tennis Blanks Georgetown

The Cardinal earned a win in its final non-conference action of the season

COLLEGE PARK, Md. – No. 9 Stanford men’s tennis won for the sixth time in its last seven matches, downing Georgetown, 4-0, at the Junior Tennis Champions Center. Stanford improves to 14-5 this season with the win.

The Cardinal got out to a fast start in doubles, winning on all three courts. Nathan Barki and Alex Razeghi scored a victory first, taking a 6-1 result on court two. Max Basing and Luke Tusher clinched the doubles point on court three, 6-4, and were followed in rapid succession with a 6-4 win on court one from Nico Godsick and Hudson Rivera.

Stanford won three singles matches in straight sets to secure the 4-0 win. Henry von der Schulenburg won his first set, 6-4, and his opponent was forced to retire, extending the Cardinal lead to 2-0 in the top position. Harsh Hemang Parikh was dominant on court five, taking 12 of 13 games to win 6-1, 6-0. Nico Godsick clinched the match at No. 3, winning 6-1, 6-2.

The Cardinal returns to ACC action, traveling to SMU on Friday and Boston College on Sunday.
