STANFORD, Calif. – No. 9 Stanford opened its four-match homestand with a 4-0 shutout of No. 29 Miami on Friday night at the Taube Pavilion at Arrillaga Tennis Center.
Stanford (9-4, 1-2 ACC) snapped its two-match losing skid by securing its first ACC win in school history.
The Cardinal looked sharp in both singles and doubles, remaining unbeaten on The Farm while playing under the lights for the first time.
Stanford improved to 9-0 all-time against the Hurricanes, with Friday’s match representing the first meeting since the 2007 ITA National Team Indoor Championships.
The Cardinal took a 1-0 lead after capturing the doubles point, thanks to a 6-3 triumph from Nathan Barki and Kyle Kang on court three.
Henry von der Schulenburg picked up his team-leading 12th victory, putting the Cardinal ahead 2-0 with a 6-2, 6-1 decision at the No. 4 spot.
Alex Razeghi then contributed a 6-1, 6-0 win on court six, extending the lead to 3-0.
Samir Banerjee made it official with a 6-4, 6-4 clincher at the top spot of the lineup.
Stanford returns to action on Sunday, March 9, hosting No. 25 Florida State at 12 p.m.
