Garvin and Stemmet land on all-conference team

STANFORD, Calif. – Hunter Garvin and Nick Stemmet earned spots on the 2024-25 All-ACC Team with their top-two finishes at the conference tournament, the ACC announced today in conjunction with its end-of-year awards.

Garvin was the ACC champion at 165 pounds, capturing the first individual ACC title program history and the 50th individual conference crown overall. He capped off the 2024-25 season with a sixth-place finish at the NCAA Championships in Philadelphia to become just the seventh multiple-time NCAA All-American in school history.

Stemmet was the runner-up at 197 pounds at the ACC Championships, finishing his Cardinal career with a 101-48 career record. His 101 victories ties him with Scott Wiggen (1982-87) for 10th all-time in program history in career wins. The fifth year and four-time NCAA qualifier was 22-11 in his final campaign with the Cardinal.

Stanford closed out the season tied for 18th place as a team at the NCAA Championships. It marks the 10th top-20 finish in program history and the second straight under Chris Ayres, the Matt Gentry Head Wrestling Coach.
