CARY, N.C. – No. 8 Stanford men’s tennis rallied from a 3-2 deficit in the ACC quarterfinals, earning a pair of three-set wins to defeat No. 17 Florida State, 4-3, at Cary Tennis Park. The win gives Stanford its first 20 win season since 2018, with the Cardinal improving to 20-5 this season.

Kang and von der Schulenburg improve to 4-1 this season as a pair, including two wins at No. 1 doubles.
Florida State tied the match on court one, but Stanford took the lead shortly thereafter, 2-1, with von der Schulenburg netting a 6-4, 6-3 victory on court four. The win was his team-leading 17th of the season, and he matches Alex Razeghi with a team-best 13 in dual play. The sixth-seeded Seminoles took the lead with wins on court five and two to take a 3-2 lead overall.
Basing and Rivera, fresh off their doubles win together, each scored an early break in their third sets to take control. Rivera tied the match, 3-3, with a 5-7, 6-3, 6-3 win on court six, for his eighth dual win of the season, while Basing clinched it moments later on court three with a 7-6 (3), 4-6, 6-2 victory. Basing improves to 14-7 this season and 11-4 in dual play.
Stanford improves to 2-0 this season against Florida State, while the win was Stanford’s seventh in a row and 12th in the past 13 matches. The Cardinal is 2-1 all-time against the Seminoles.
