Trio Secures MPSF Honors

Snoey, Wagner on second team, Porter named to freshman team

STANFORD, Calif. – Headlined by second-team selections Theo Snoey and Moses Wagner, three Cardinal were named to the Mountain Pacific Sports Federation all-conference teams, the league announced Tuesday.

Snoey and Wagner both earn their first career all-conference honors. Evan Porter was named to the MPSF All-Freshman Team. Stanford now has 117 all-conference selections all-time.

A native of Berkeley, Snoey leads the MPSF with 4.09 kills per set and 4.64 points per set, and ranks 10th with 0.33 aces per set. A two-time MPSF Offensive Player of the Week, he has led the team in kills in 15 of his 22 matches played. The outside hitter has hit .300 or better in 13 matches and tallied 20-plus kills on four occasions.

An opposite from San Jose, Wagner is sixth in the MPSF with 3.50 kills per set and seventh with 4.23 points per set. An MPSF Offensive and Defensive Player of the Week this season, the junior has registered double-digit kills in 18 of 24 matches played, hitting .300 or better on 11 occasions. He’s led the team in kills in 10 matches and has two double-doubles on the season.

Porter, a libero from Honolulu, is fourth in the MPSF this season with 1.81 digs per set. A two-time MPSF Defensive Player of the Week, he has tallied double-digit digs in four matches, including a career-high 17 in a win at No. 3 USC on April 11.

UCLA outside hitter Cooper Robinson was named MPSF Player of the Year, while Pepperdine opposite Cole Hartke was voted MPSF Freshman of the Year.

Stanford opens the MPSF Tournament on Wednesday as the No. 6 seed taking on No. 7 seed Menlo College at 8 p.m. in Firestone Fieldhouse.
