CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Fresh off its ACC Tournament championship, Samir Banerjee and Max Basing have garnered All-ACC accolades for the Stanford men’s tennis program. Banerjee was a first team honoree while Basing was slotted on the third team.
Adding to a long list of accolades over his collegiate career, Banerjee was one of six players named to the All-ACC first team. The junior from Basking Ridge, New Jersey holds a 13-7 overall singles record, and a 10-5 dual mark all at No. 1 singles. Banerjee holds three wins over top-10 players and eight against top-25 competition, going 4-1 during ACC regular season play.
Banerjee is no stranger to all-conference recognition, as he was previously a two-time All-Pac-12 first team selection and the 2023 Pac-12 Freshman of the Year. He is currently ranked seventh nationally by the ITA, the highest singles mark in his career.
The ACC Championships Most Valuable Player, Basing earns his fourth-career all-conference nod on the All-ACC third team. Basing was a first team Pac-12 honoree in 2023 and a two-time second team choice, in 2022 and 2024.
Basing holds a 16-7 singles record on the season, ranking second on the team in singles wins, and a 13-4 dual mark. Basing went 5-2 during the ACC regular season and he holds five ranked wins on the year. The senior from Oxshott, United Kingdom in currently ranked No. 98 by the ITA in singles.
Banerjee and Basing helped Stanford to its first ACC Championship last weekend, with Basing clinching all three matches in the tournament. The duo has helped lead Stanford to a 22-5 overall record this season, including a 10-3 mark in the ACC and a 9-0 mark at home.
