STANFORD, Calif. - Stanford senior gymnast Taylor Burkhart was named Mountain Pacific Sports Federation (MPSF) Gymnast of the Year, becoming the Cardinal's seventh consecutive winner following an announcement from the conference title on Thursday.
A 2025 Nissen-Emery Award finalist, Burkhart has enjoyed a breakout senior campaign as the nation's top all-arounder with an 80.183 4-score average. He also ranks in the top-15 on floor exercise (5th), vault (5th), and pommel horse (15th), and has recorded to top-scoring individual performances in the all -around (83.900) and vault (14.750) this season.
Burkhart has won four event titles this season, earning three CGA National Gymnast of the Week awards and a conference-leading three MPSF Gymnast of the Week honors. Additionally, Burkhart earned another selection to the U.S. Senior National Team after a fourth-place all-around effort at the 2025 Winter Cup, and secured floor exercise gold in his first international assignment at the 2025 Antalya World Cup.
The Arvada, Colo., native becomes the 14th gymnast in program history to earn the conference's highest honor and the 11th Cardinal winner in the last twelve seasons, joining Asher Hong (2023-24), Brody Malone (2019-22), Akash Modi (2014-17), Tim Gentry (2011), Sho Nakamori (2009) and Dan Gill (2004).
No. 2 Stanford continues its season at the MPSF Championships on April 5 in Colorado Springs, Colo., where the Cardinal will compete for its fourth consecutive conference title. Competition will begin at 3 p.m. PT on subscription-based platform, Overnght.
