Men’s Basketball Welcomes Dent-Smith

Dent-Smith was a two-time All-American at Cal State Dominguez Hills

STANFORD, Calif. – Welcoming a two-time Division II All-American, Kyle Smith, the Anne and Tony Joseph Director of Men’s Basketball, has announced the addition of Jeremy Dent-Smith as a transfer from Cal State Dominguez Hills.

“Jeremy Dent-Smith is our kind of guy. He is a self-made player who became an All-American at the Division II level,” said Smith. “Jeremy is a strong guard who can be a lead guard or get your team a bucket when you need it. He has a great feel and high IQ, and he helped lead Cal State Dominguez Hills to unprecedented success as the national runner-up.”

Dent-Smith starred for Cal State Dominguez Hills across three seasons, scoring 1,402 points. As a junior, Dent-Smith led the Toros to the NCAA Division II national championship game and a runner-up finish, as well as a CCAA Tournament title. The Hawthorne, California native averaged 19.2 points, 4.6 rebounds, 3.0 assists and 1.5 steals per game in 2024-25.

A four-time FloCollege/CCAA Player of the Week in 2024-25, Dent-Smith scored a season-high 33 points in the Final Four against Dallas Baptist, while his career high 41 points came during his sophomore year against Cal Poly Pomona. The performance against the Broncos in 2024 earned him D2CIDA National Player of the Week honors.

A three-level scorer, Dent-Smith is a two-time NABC first team All-American and a two-time NABC All-West Region first team honoree. He was the 2024 CCAA Player of the year and a two-time first team selection.

Dent-Smith arrives at Stanford as CSUDH’s fifth-leading scorer in program history and single-season record holder with 710 points. He was the first two-time All-American in the Toros’ program history.
